Reception Round Up - 6 November 2020
This week we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes and have used them in our maths, our art and we even created a pizza shop! We have been identifying shapes around our classroom and in our everyday routines and homes.
It has been a wh'oval' lot of fun!
We had a wonderful time in the sunshine this week using prepositions to describe our hide and seek places.
Some of our favourites included: 'behind the school promise', 'beside the shed', 'under the piano' and even 'on top of the ball'!
This week in PE, Year 3 started a brand new unit on orienteering, having a go at some fun activities that require map reading, navigational skills, communication and team work!
In preparation for our English topic of Stories from other cultures, the children have produced some lovely tiger themed work over the half term. They've enjoyed bringing in thier soft toys, art work and books to share too. I'm sure you'll agree our display looks ggggrrrreat!!
Year 6 were very excited to start some of the roles and responsibilities that we usually do in Year 6 - you may well have seen Year 6 children greeting you by the gates in the morning. They love this role as it helps build relationships with the other children in the school.
Please say, 'Good morning' to them they will appreciate the interaction.
Class 1S Forest School club had fun with leaves! We made some animals using leaves, acorns and Japanese quinces collected from Madame Tatton’s garden.
We even tried to make the largest leaf firework, but the wind kept hampering our effort to make circular patterns of different colours. Tomisin and Albert played a game of Japanese quince bowling!
This week our creepy craft club was infested with beastly bats. The children had spook-tacular fun choosing just how scary their bat was going to be before the vicious vermin vanished to their new roosts.
