U11s ISA Kwik Cricket Tournament

Our U11s gave a fantastic account of themselves on a very hot and sunny day over at the picturesque Duffield Cricket Club in Derby for the ISA Kwik Cricket Tournament. Although losing the opening game to eventual champions Ranby House, Crescent bounced back superbly to beat Dixie Grammar in their second match, excellent bowling sealing a narrow 5 run victory. This left them 2nd out of four in their group, and into the Trophy stage of the knock-out round.

They continued their superb bowling and fielding with a very convincing 68 run win against St Joseph's, before losing out in the final game to a very strong OVS side. This meant Crescent finished as runners-up in the Trophy, 6th out of 16 teams on the day.

Special mentions for the whole team for battling hard throughout, but particularly to Shiv for his first-rate bowling, and to our player of the tournament Ava, who was outstanding with both bat and ball.

Crescent U11s Boys 'A' vs King Henry VIII U11s Boys 'A'

Despite excellent effort from the entire team and some superb bowling displays, Crescent U11 Boys came off second best away against a well drilled King Henry's side.

Putting Henry's into bat first, Crescent bowled and fielded well as a team, restricting the home side to 237-3. Alex G was the pick of the bowlers, picking up two wickets for just three runs.

In reply however Crescent couldn't find their form with the bat, and a near constant loss of wickets left them well short of the target on 208 runs.

Joint players of the match went to Yash and Sam for their fantastic 25 run batting partnership which nearly saved the game.
