Many of you will have picked up resource kits for Pre-Prep over the last two days before half term. Upper School will offer a similar replenishment collection for Years 3-6 after half term.

Please collect your own child or children's named bag from their class box which will be placed by the front door. They will be available from Tuesday 23 February during school hours that week. It would be appreciated if you could use the hand sanitiser by the door first please. 

Thank you for making this trip out during lockdown for educational purposes. 

Tuesday 23 February 2021 - 7.00pm TEAMS

The focus of the evening is to go through with parents the potentially daunting process of finding the right school for your son or daughter when they leave us at the end of Year 6.  You will be told about how and when to apply for maintained and independent secondary schools, the type of standardised scoring that the maintained schools use and there will be advice from members of staff on preparing your child for the exams they will be sitting. The evening will clarify the timeline involved and explain a bit more about how we can help you navigate the process without too much anxiety. 

This meeting will be held via TEAMS and a link will be sent out on the day.

Monday 1 March 2021

St David's Day 2021 falls on Monday 1 March.  To celebrate this occasion all members of Yellow House are invited to wear an item of yellow on this day.  Make sure it shows on your Teams meetings and on your Seesaw uploads! 

Please do send us any photos of this and if any of you who love baking want to turn your skills to making Welsh cakes we'd love to see these too.  We'll aim to have a selection in that week's Courier.

Further detail for this year's World Book Day will be released in due course.

We love our reading at Crescent School and hopefully this will encourage the children to be further inspired. 

Saturday 13 March 2021 - 10.30am to 11.30am

On Saturday 13 March Crescent School will be holding a Virtual Open Morning.

Hosted by Joe Thackway, Headmaster, the event will comprise some short pre-recorded videos, including a tour of the school. There will be the opportunity to listen to presentations by senior members of staff that will give an insight into different aspects of the education the school provides, how Crescent supports its pupils to achieve great things and the admissions process. There will also be the opportunity for parents to ask questions during the live event.

The school has availability in Reception and Year 1 for September 2021 entry, there is quite limited availability in other years, for details please speak to our Registrar, Helen Morley. The final deadline for applications for 2021 entry is Friday 21 May 2021.

Please note that this term's Music examination session has been moved to Wednesday 31 March, which is after the end of term. Pupils being entered for exams this term should already be aware of this. I will be in touch soon with entry details and a request for examination fees.

Our upcoming author talk by E R Riley who was booked for a virtual visit Crescent on Monday 1 March 2021 has had to be cancelled. Hopefully we will be able to welcome him into school very soon.

These were due to be held on Friday 19 March 2021, however, due to Covid these will not take place.  When we are able to rearrange, I will provide details.
