Reception Rainbow Fish

Reception have been enjoying a lovely story called, Rainbow Fish about a selfish fish who won't share but through the course of the story, realises that giving to others and sharing makes him happy and builds lovely friendships as well.

The children all decorated a scale for another child in their class and then we made one big sparkly rainbow fish per class showing that even though we are not all physically together, we are a class who are still swimming along together being kind and sharing.

We are sure you'll agree - the children did a great job.

Class 1S Art Changing Seasons.

Class 1S have been learning about the months of the year this week and expressing our favourite seasons and what activities we like to do and celebrate.

So this week in our Art lesson, the children demonstrated their understanding of the different seasons by creating trees. Such beautiful creations, Year 1!

Class 2W have been designing what their schools will look like in the future when they all become architects. They have many wonderful and creative ideas which I think the children of the future will love.

I think my favourite ideas are the hovering chairs and desks in the rainbow classrooms and a rollercoaster in the playground!

Class 2W Teams

Class 2W children have loved their pastoral Teams meet ups each Monday and Friday.  They're always delighted to see one another and eagerly share stories and show things they have been doing.  We've checked in with each other's moods and compared these to the weather alongside having fun scavenger hunts and stating our future hopes and wishes.

Class 3Y Art

Last week 3Y used envelopes creatively to make a street scene which could have been inspired by their very own street! Using the shapes of envelopes to create the houses Year 3 had to think carefully about the details found on houses and the different ways houses are connected or separated on a street through terraced, semi-detached, or detached houses. I was particularly impressed by these creations by Sam O, Ollie and Maisie!

Class 3Y WOW What A Lot Of Words We Read!

I have been hugely impressed with 3Y's reading this term and have kept a close eye on their progress over the weeks. However, I was still amazed to collate the data so far and find that 3Y have collectively read 3 million words since the start of term!

121 books have been quizzed on with Sam O, Emily and Edward GH each reading more than 12 and Alex G reading over 800,000 words.  A special mention  should go to Hattie for whizzing straight into quizzing with some excellent scores.

A huge well done to all of you and keep enjoying your reading up over half term.

Class 4M DT

Class 4M has been studying cars in DT this week. They all researched their topic, learnt all about them, then planned their own design and drew a labelled diagram.

Over two lessons they then set out to make their design and finally tested and evaluated them. I have also had a Teams meeting with each class for them to show their work to the rest of the class if they wanted to.

I have been amazed and thrilled by the time and effort they have spent on their projects, so a very well done to them all.
