The Green Team had a day off curriculum today to learn about how to collect rainwater from the roof of a building and how to construct equipment to collect the rainwater. They learnt how to construct a building and how to work on a roof at height. The pupils were superbly instructed by Alan Stapleton and Adam Thirsk of Roam in the Community.

In the afternoon, they then applied their new skills and installed the first water butt in the school grounds with the help of Mr Knowles. It was a great day with a great Green Team! 

One of the next projects for the Green Team is to design and build a large raised bed so that we can plant and grow flowers to be used by pollinators from Spring 2024.

We are looking to build the bed from recycled materials and from the time and resources of volunteers from our school community. Can you help?
