Red House finished as winners on goal difference, Blues finishing as runners-up and Yellow House in 3rd place. Fantastic play by all of the pupils putting in commendable effort with some fantastic displays of learning from the term, playing balls out wide, rolling round defending players and getting sticks down low and strong for tackles.

The fair play and sportsmanship award went to Blue House for sharing goal keepers Ava and Zahra with Yellow House.

Football Round Up

U11s 5-aside ISA Boys Football
Crescent had quite a mixed day at the Boys ISA 5-aside football, unsurprising as the type of pitch and style of football was completely brand new to most our squad! The boys began with narrow defeats to Twycross and Hydesville, a draw against St. Joseph’s, and further losses to Old Vic and Ruckleigh.

Rather than letting their heads drop however, Crescent rallied superbly in the second half of the day, hammering St. Joseph’s 3-0, followed by further resounding wins against Heathfield, Priory, Loughborough and Bedstone. This meant Crescent finished the competition with 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses, leaving with their heads held high. Player of the tournament was Sam M for his excellent battling and deadly finishing throughout, with a special mention for Bryson who played superbly in goal.

Twycross House U10s 2 - 3 Crescent U10s
Crescent U10s continued their excellent season with a fantastic win away at Twycross. The visitors started the stronger, quickly taking the lead when Ed G-H played Timi through to coolly round the keeper. Twycross are a very strong side however and equalised just before half-time with a long range freekick that dipped passed the keeper.

Quickly after the break both sides again found the net in quick succession, Sam B volleying in for Crescent only for the home team to peg them back almost from kick-off. After this however Crescent were able to dominate play, their strong defence cutting out any chances, while at the other end Ed G-H and Timi were able to pepper the Twycross goal.  Timi was denied by a series of excellent saves by the keeper before finding the winner, whilst Ed hit the post and the crossbar twice!

Joint players of the match were Alex T and Shiv for their superb defensive partnership.
