KS2 Online Platforms Information Session For Class 3S Parents And New Parents To Upper School

Tuesday 20 September 2022 - 7.00pm

We are very much looking forward to sharing with you the online learning resources that are accessible to you at home to work on, alongside your child, to support their learning further.

This will be run as a Teams meeting on Tuesday 20 September at 7.00pm. The link will be sent through to you prior to the event.

If you have any questions please submit them through the meeting chat and we will endeavour to deal with them then or they can be sent to your child's Form Tutor.

If you are unable to make the time of the meeting, we will be recording the session and we will send it along with any resources to all parents in Classes 3Y, 4M, 5F and 6W.

Within this meeting we will be looking at Spellzone, Abacus, Accelerated Reading and Timetable Rockstars

Princethorpe College Virtual Q&A and Open Morning

Princethorpe College Online Parents' Admissions Q&A
Tuesday 20 September - 6.30pm to 7.30pm

The College's Admissions Team will be holding a Virtual Parents' Q&A session on Tuesday 20 September from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

The event will be a live streamed Q&A session with Ed Hester (Headmaster), Mrs Vanessa Rooney (Registrar) and the senior team. This is a chance for parents’ to ask our Admissions Team questions relating to the admissions process and Entrance Examinations Day in an informal forum before the registration deadline of Friday 30 September.

Open Morning
Thursday 22 September 10.30am to 12.30pm

The College's Open Morning will give prospective families a chance to visit the school on a normal working day, with Year 8 and 9 pupils acting as tour guides. Light refreshments will be available.

A reminder that the College's Entrance Examinations Day for September 2023 entry will take place on Saturday 5 November 2022 from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The deadline for registrations, scholarship and bursary applications is Friday 30 September 2022.

Phonics Information Session

Wednesday 21 September 2022 - 7.00pm

We are very much looking forward to sharing with you our approach to the teaching of Phonics and Early Reading at Crescent School and offering some hints and tips on how you can support your child at home. 

This will be run as a Teams meeting on Wednesday 21 September at 7.00pm. The link will be sent through to you prior to the event. Any questions can be written through the session chat and we will endeavour to deal with them then or they can be sent to your child's Form Tutor.

Year 6 Slapton Ley Residential Information Session

Monday 26 September 2022 - 7.00pm

All Year 6 parents are invited to an information session about the residential trip to Slapton Ley Centre. This will be an opportunity for you to find out what happens there, note the key dates and ask any questions. 

This is a Teams meeting at 7.00pm. The Office will send you the link on the 26 September and for those unable to attend, a recording will be circulated afterwards to all Year 6 parents.

Monday 26 September 2022 - 09.00am to 12.00pm

Individual and siblings photographs will be taken in school on Monday 26 September.  Children may choose to wear either winter or summer uniform but with blazers please.

Year 4 Rock UK Parent Information Session

Tuesday 27 September 2022 - 7.00pm

Year 4 parents are invited to an information session about the residential trip to Rock UK. This will be an opportunity for you to find out what happens there, note the key dates and ask any questions.

Harvest Service

Tuesday 27 September - Upper School
Wednesday 28 September - Pre-Prep

This year we will be holding two Harvest Festivals, one for the Upper School on Tuesday 27 September and the other one for Pre-Prep on Wednesday 28 September.

Both services will start at 9.15am and you are welcome, after drop off to come into the library, for light refreshments before the service which will be served in the library.

The service will be approximately 45 minutes and will be a mixture of songs, readings, music and prayers to celebrate the Harvest.

Past Pupils Matches

Wednesday 5 October 2022 - 4.30pm

We are extremely excited to be able to welcome back our past pupils for football/netball matches against the current Year 6 children.

Please complete the form below to indicate if your child is able to attend:

Past Pupils

Past Pupils: please arrive no earlier than 4.30pm. The entry point is through the side field gate where you will be welcomed for refreshments. We recommend arriving in PE kit.

Class 6W: For those who are staying in school you will be able to change into your games kit after last lesson. 

All parents and siblings of a senior school age:

Plan:

  • 4.30pm - arrive for refreshments on the School Field
  • 4.45pm - tour of the school for past pupils and parents, while 6W get ready for the matches
  • 5.00pm - matches

Mrs McCollin and Mr Adkins are taking the lead, but I know many teachers will come and see everyone, past pupil matches are a great occasion.

Reception And Year 3 Open Evening

Tuesday 4 October 2022 - 7.00pm to 8.00pm

We are opening our doors for a dedicated Open Evening on Tuesday 4 October 2022 from 7.00pm.

This Open Evening is for prospective families wishing to join Reception or Year 3 in September 2023 and beyond.

The evening will have dedicated presentations depending on which year group you are interested in. There will also be opportunities to look around the school, visit dedicated classrooms, such as the Science Lab and IT Suite, as well as speak to key members of staff. Joe Thackway, Headmaster, will also be available to answer any of your questions you may have about the school.

Our early bird deadline for registrations for September 2023 Reception and Year 3 entry is Friday 14 October. We have already had a high level of interest in our Reception class for 2023 and anticipate that we will be full for 2023 after this deadline. We would therefore strongly advise that if after our Open Evening you are considering registering for 2023 entry to please do so by this deadline.

Open Corridors

Friday 7 October 2022 - 3.45pm to 4.15pm

We would very much like to welcome you to look around the school corridors on Friday 7 October.

The playground will be reserved for parking from 3.40pm. Year 5 and 6 will be dismissed through the pupil door, all other classes are to be dismissed through their usual door.

Please collect your child(ren) then come round to the front door where you will be welcomed in from 3.45pm to look at all the great work in school. Entry and exit is via the main school entrance only and last entry is at 3.55pm.

If your child is in a co-curricular club they will be expected to attend their club as normal unless you arrange otherwise.

If your child is in After School, please follow the usual routine for collection.

Please be aware that this is not a time to talk to the teachers concerning your child, please email them separately if you have concerns.
