Reception Round Up - 10 December 2021
Reception children will be taking home their mini caterpillar books today. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar in French this term (“la chenille qui fait des trous”) and the children made their own mini version to read with their parents!
In Design and Technology, Class 6W (in small groups) have researched, designed and created different shadow puppets and scenery over the past few weeks. The quality of the puppets was superb and the performances were both entertaining and fun.
Our James and the Giant Peach show was amazing. They did a great performance and they had a good set. I just think it was awesome.
It started with a boy called James who went to live far away from his old home with some unkind Aunts. Their names were Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. Then, magically, James was taken to a world of enormous insects and they lived inside a giant peach. One day the peach fell into the sea but James had an idea to save them all and he was right.

Next term our Englsh learning in Class 6W is based around the book Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling, I realise many of the class have read the book but those that haven't will benefit from reading it or listening to it over the holidays in readiness for next term.
They have been given a book to bring home.
It is so important that all children keep up their reading over the holidays and continue the habit of reading every day.
The last day for quizzing is Tuesday 14 December and it will resume on the first day of term. I do recommend that the children only quiz on one book when they return as it is not a memory test.
