Class II children have been examining the properties of varying materials and how they can be altered to suit your purpose. This week we have focused on elasticity and learnt lots in our catapult invention testing.
We looked at how we perceive friendship in PSHE this week and how we can use doughnuts to help us understand! Most of us think there is a jammy centre of friends who seem to be having all the fun and that we wish to be part of it – but actually we all feel on the outside, looking in at times and it’s important that we recognise how that makes us feel.
Mrs Stapleton
Class III Form Tutor
Class III have finished their pneumatic moving monsters this week and have enjoyed designing, creating and parading their final design and technology project of the year.
Mrs Byrne and her skilled band of family helpers have helped the children design and sew a pair of slippers over the last few weeks. Junior da Vincis for mastery were awarded to Sachin, Eva and Charlotte for their sewing skills and the rest of the class were awarded with creativity or practice stickers for their efforts.
This week we said good bye to Mr Dan Stapleton from our afterschool team who has been helping support the children over the last few months. He has loved his time here at Crescent and the children loved the ice-lollies that he brought them as a treat. Many thanks from all of us!
