Around The Classes

Class I Visit BEC Church

Following on from our visit from Pastor Alan, the children went on a trip to visit him at Bilton Evangelical Church. Having studied traditional Christian churches, the children were able to compare BEC which is a modern, less traditional church and analyse the similarities and differences.

The children had a tour of the church and then we visited the coffee shop. Great questions were asked by the children such as, ‘Why is the coffee shop called Mosaic?’ and ‘Why does a church need a coffee shop?’ A wonderful opportunity to bring their learning to life and build a wider picture of the role of faith in the community. Class 1 were beautifully behaved and a real credit to themselves, their parents and the school.

Class II Buddhists

In Class II we have been appreciating nature as Buddhists do and thought of questions we might ask about the intricate beauty of creation. The children also responded well in a mindfulness relaxation session too.

Class II Prepare To Party

This week in DT Class II made mini party sandwiches as party of their 'Prepare to Party' topic.  This required students to cut, spoon, mix and spread ingredients together to make yummy  soft cheese and green pepper sandwiches. Much fun was had making the sandwiches and eating the end product.

Interesting combinations were tried and everyone had lots of fun making and eating their creations.

Co-Curricular Craft Club

Craft Club made the most of the glorious weather this week and explored our outdoor space to find interesting natural items to make some art from nature.

We looked at the different trees and examined their different flowers, seeds and leaves. Then we let our creative juices flow to create some lovely temporary art!

Co-Curricular Pre-Prep Philosophy Club

This week in philosophy club we were recognising that we do not all see things in the same way. We had pictures to look at but we all saw something different in them. It is important to consider other peoples' views as well as convincing others of our own.

It was lovely to see some of the Class VI children enjoying skipping this week alongside other children from the School.  What a lovely way to start the morning.
