U10s Girls ISA Midlands Football Tournament

The Crescent U10 girls side made their coaches, parents and whole school extremely proud last Friday with a simply phenomenal series of performances from the whole squad to lift the ISA Midlands trophy as outright champions. Crescent got their two toughest matches of the day out of the way early, with two hard fought draws against strong Twycross and Crackley sides. From there the girls were really able to show both their class and determination, winning their other eight games in true style, all without conceding a single goal! This gave them the superb record of being unbeaten on the day, winning 8 games out of 10, drawing 2, scoring 35 goals and letting in only 1... a true champion level performance.

Special mentions really must go to the entire team, with Roisin, Amber, Sophia and Evelyn all scoring valuable goals, Ava and Isabella industrious in midfield, Seren and Esme simply unbeatable in defence, and MingYi incredible in goal.

U11 And U10 Football v Repton

U11A Boys vs Repton U11A
It's an old adage in sport that the better the opposition the better you play, and this could not have been more the case for the U11 A team's encounter with a very strong Repton side.

Although eventually coming out on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline, Crescent played thoroughly fantastic, exciting and mature football throughout. In a truly end-to-end game, with just as many chances at either end, superb team goals from Timi, Sam B and Zac saw Crescent fight back again and again, but unfortunately they just couldn't match Repton's clinical finishing in front of goal.

Joint players of the match were Sam B and Timi for their excellent strength and battling in all over the pitch.

U11B Boys vs Repton U11B
The U10 Bs romped to a 12-0 victory in their game against Repton's second team. The key to the success was passing and movement and the quality of play was exceptional. They showed good grace in victory as well, without over celebrating, and returned the warm welcome that we enjoyed. The sausage and chips at the end went down a treat to round off a very satisfactory afternoon.
