Class 3S Outdoor Sculpture Designs

Class 3S have been busy designing outdoor sculptures which they think would improve our school grounds. They enjoyed working together to create posters of their ideas and they are all looking forward to making maquettes of their designs out of clay.

Class 5F Art

Over the past few weeks, Class 5F have been designing flower inspired containers. On Monday, they had fun exploring clay and the different ways they could shape and model the material. I look forward to seeing how they get on making their designs next week.

Class 5F Geometry

This week 5F have been applying their geometry skills to 2D nets in the hope they can be folded and stuck accurately to make a perfect 3D shape. Some children followed a ready made net, some copied a net, and some created their own from scratch with a piece of card, a ruler and a protractor. Pupils produced tetrahedrons, pyramids, prisms, octahedrons and one stella octangula!

All took a lot of concentration!

Class 6W The Tempest

Class 6W have been hard at work this week rehearsing for our end of year production of The Tempest. They have a specially designed set, there is dancing, singing and most of all some excellent acting. This week we checked our costumes, this definitely helped them get into their roles.

Co-Curricular Make And Do

The sun is out and we thought we would make some stained glass window crafts. We used tissue paper in various colours to make our designs and we carefully laid them on a laminating sheet. There were many colours used by the girls, and designs included a ladybird and dragon. When we were happy with our craft, Mrs Olner carefully put our sheets through the laminator.  We have a lovely piece of art to put on our windows and hopefully we will have some sun to shine through them.

Co-Curricular STEM Club

In STEM club this week, pupils in Years 4 and 5 were challenged to investigate 'How slow can you go?' when rolling a marble down a ramp. Each ramp was of equal length and the other variables were up to them to decide. They used a range of interesting techniques with the forces of friction and gravity in mind!
