Rugby v Twycross Reports

Crescent U10’s vs Twycross House U10’s

Crescent began their first ever contact rugby match in triumphant fashion, beating a well drilled Twycross side 45-35. Tries from captain Charlie, Sam and Finlay saw the visitors cruise to a strong lead by half-time. Twycross were not going down without a fight however and came back superbly in the second half, with only Crescent’s excellent tackling enabling them to hold out for a well-deserved win.

Player of the match went to Sam for fast attacking play and in the words of their coach “tackling like a machine!”

Crescent U11’s vs Twycross House U11’s
Considering that for the majority of the side this was their first taste of competitive contact rugby, the U11’s put up a very valiant display against a very strong Twycross team. The first half was absolutely neck and neck, finishing 30-30 with superb tries from Eva and Sachin. Twycross came out much the stronger in the second half however, the blistering pace of their star player proving too much, running in 5 unanswered tries, taking his personal tally to 50 points for the game. Brilliant supporting play from Sophia and Caspar enabled Aryan to grab a late consolation try, leaving the final score 55-35.

Player of the match went to Eva for her excellent ball carrying and impact running, but special mentions for the entire squad for their bravery and determination.
