Reception French

Reception have continued reading La Chasse à L'Ours and as luck would have it, we reached the page where the family meets snow when we had actual snow outside!

Legend has it that Inuit have more than 100 words for snow, we only practise one in French "la neige" but each child in Reception had their own interpretation of the white stuff.

I attach a selection from both classes. Some children used the seesaw tools, others drew or used other material for their creations - they are so clever!

Class 4M Rainforest Research

Class 4M have started their new non-fiction topic, Persuasive Writing, this week. Our text focus is a fabulous book, Jeannie Baker's Where the Forest Meets the Sea, a powerful story highlighting issues surrounding the rainforests.

4M are building up to producing some posters next week to show how they should be protected, and this week it's been all about the research. They have used resources such as posters, articles and websites to gather information and form an argument to persuade people of the importance of looking after our rainforests. Here is some of their research and I will share some of their finished posters next Friday.

Class 5F French Penpals

After receiving penpal letters from France two weeks ago, Class 5F children wasted no time in drafting their replies. The results are amazing and reflect our wonderful children’s personalities, with some slick digital master pieces and other hand written letters.

I am so proud of them!

Class 6W French

Last half term, Class 6W have learnt to describe where they live, using adjectives and sentences such as “il y a" (there is, there are). They also expressed their opinions about where they live.

The resulting posters are wonderful, both hand-drawn and digital versions. I really enjoyed discovering Rugby and its surrounding villages without leaving the comfort of my study!
