Crescent Launch's Past Pupils Associations - Old Crescentians

2018 is a big year for Crescent School. Not only will we celebrate our 70th birthday and mark the 30th anniversary since we moved to our Bawnmore Road home, it is also the year that we have decided to launch our past pupils’ association - Old Crescentians!

We have set up a group on Facebook called ‘Old Crescentians’ and we hope this will act as a means for past Crescent pupils to get in touch with each other, share memories and get news about their old school. We are very interested in hearing from all past pupils to find out how life is treating them and what they are doing now and in any old memorabilia they may have.

In preparation for the group’s launch, we looked through a few of the items we have in our archive and have rediscovered some lovely photos from our Golden Jubilee celebrations in the 90s - do you remember this or recognise anyone in the pictures?

We have some exciting plans afoot to help celebrate these wonderful milestones in Crescent’s history and would love for you to be a part of it - please do join the group using the link below and invite any Old Crescentians you may know!

If you know some Old Crescentians (OCs) who aren’t on Facebook but who may wish to get in touch, they can contact the OCs association by emailing pastpupils@crescentschool.co.uk or calling the School Office on 01788 521595.

Sun Care

All children in school are taught how to keep themselves safe in the sun. This is monitored in school especially if children spend significant amounts of time outdoors in play or outdoor learning.

Of course all school staff and parents have a safeguarding duty of care for children. As such please could we ask that, throughout this term all children have in school daily plenty of water, a school sunhat and sun cream.

Please note that staff are not permitted to apply sun cream to children or to share sun cream and so the ideal solution is for children to come to school with once-a-day sun cream already applied.

With many thanks for your continued support in this protection.

Pay It Forward Day 2018

Saturday 28 April 2018 is National Pay It Forward Day and on Friday 27 April we will be holding a ‘Pay It Forward’ assembly to tell the children all about this special day.

Pay It Forward Day is a global initiative that exists to make a difference by encouraging kindness across the world. The organisers believe that small acts of kindness, when multiplied by millions of people can literally change the world into a better place.

Imagine the difference that would make!
