Use Of St Mark's Church Car Park For School Drop Off And Pick Up

St Mark's Church have confirmed that parents can use their car park for drop off and collection from school.  It is a large car park and there is a short cut from Church Walk which brings you out onto Bawnmore Court beside the school.

A short walk and a breath of fresh air is excellent at helping children get ready for their morning's learning.

ISA U11 Midlands Rugby Tournament

Crescent took part in their first contact rugby tournament on Friday 23 March at the ISA U11 Midlands Rugby Tournament at Princethorpe College. Looking to grow the sport in school, the children have been working hard all year to develop their skills ahead of the tournament.

In the first match, Crescent had lots of the ball but were slow to the breakdown and being turned over cost them tries. In the second match, they supported each other much better and made use of strategic kicks. They scored a couple of tries but unfortunately were beaten.

In the last match in the group, they were pitted against the strongest team. Having started to work better as a team, the Crescent boys took an early lead and were very unlucky not to get a second try (although credit must be given for a great last gasp tackle). Crescent’s strong runners caused problems but some missed tackles meant that the opposition got back into the game and eventually won.

Based on their group rankings, Crescent went on to play two further matches against the teams who had finished in a similar position to theirs in other groups. Unfortunately, illnesses and injuries meant that some of the stronger players in the team were not able to contribute. A 5-4 loss was the closest Crescent came to victory but the day a great learning curve for the boys and a pleasant experience as they enjoyed playing rugby with their school mates.
