Headmaster's Message

Dear Parents

I write to you this week from my hotel room in London where I am attending this year’s conference of the IAPS. This is an association of prep school heads and is an excellent opportunity to hear speakers and take part in workshops on a wide range of issues affecting education in general and independent schools in particular. Whilst I never like to be away from work for long periods I do find the conferences very useful and I come back with lots of ideas to help me build on our improvement plans for Crescent. We will look at issues such as maths mastery, the future of IT teaching, the changing nature of the inspection regime and the unpredictable and volatile political climate of our age. The conference centre is located within a stone’s throw of Westminster Abbey and the House of Commons and you can imagine the sense of history in the making all around us.

On my return I look forward to hearing about the past pupils’ match on Thursday this week as well as today’s coffee morning. I’m sure they will have gone well in my absence and thank you to the staff and FOC for their efforts in arranging these two important events.

Next week we look forward to our first open day of the year for prospective parents and the open corridor event that follows. This latter event is a chance for you to come in and see the new corridor development and the refurbished IT suite as well as examples of all the children’s hard work so far this term. I do hope you are able to come along.

Have a great weekend everybody
