Headmaster's Message

Dear Parents

There has been a different feel to the school this week with so many of the children out on residential trips. For those that have stayed here, this has meant for a lovely peaceful few days with a bit more space on the playground and in the changing areas.

We particularly enjoyed our Star Wars day celebrations thanks to master chef Mr. Moore on Wednesday, who brought in his surprisingly large collection of Star Wars figures and displayed them for all the children to see as they were served their specially themed lunch. I think there are pictures of this elsewhere in the Courier this week for you to enjoy.

I have managed myself to get over to Whitemoor Lakes and to the Frank Chapman centre to see the children in action and also keep an eye on the safe running of the two trips. I am delighted to report that both children and staff were very well behaved and were genuinely enjoying the opportunity to be outside, having fun and putting their growth mindset training into practise. We have all missed residential trips and it's that little bit harder going when it's your first time, but hopefully the groundwork that has been laid this year will stand those children in good stead for many trips in the future.

With slightly warmer weather forecast for the weekend my exciting plan is to plant out some of my vegetable seedlings that I have been bringing on. That often results in a hard frost the following week, so I am hoping for better luck this year.
