Reception Round Up - 14 May 2021
Following our assembly about connecting with nature, Class 1S explored the forest school area and discovered a number of leaves, wild flowers and interesting bark to use in their descriptive writing in English. We had a lovely time foraging!
The children have been learning about shape poetry this week. They have written some of their own examples of calligrams and animal shape poems.
I have been so impressed with their creativity!
The children in Outdoor Learning club were very industrious today, building a hotel complex for bugs. It comprises of buildings, path and flower gardens. It already has its few residents: a tiger slug, a few woodlice and… a fairy!
Esme found a fairy door and the fairy house also has a window. We were so excited! The children left a welcome present of a small flower on the fairy’s doorstep and we cannot wait to return next week and make friends with the fairy.
